I have lived in New England all of my life, and I appreciate its magnificent geography and beauty. I enjoy painting its many wonderful landscapes on canvas. I feel very fortunate to have been given the talent of observing a beautiful scene or something as simple as an apple, and being able to process it from my eyes to my heart and onto a canvas. I love everything involved in producing a painting from laying out my pallet with beautiful colors and the anticipation of making those first brushstrokes to cleaning those brushes.  Being a painter in oils, I work on site and in my studio, using visits to a landscape, using my sketches and digital photos as a reference. My studio has natural daylight lamps and true light to replicate the outdoors. A still life “story” is just as exciting to me as painting landscapes and I can spend days arranging a still life, enjoying every minute. But the real enjoyment begins with that first brushstroke, and continues all the way to the highlights. My ultimate hope is that individuals viewing will feel the atmosphere of my landscapes and smell the fragrance of the flowers or want to reach out and touch the objects in my still lifes. I feel fortunate to have discovered this talent, and I hope those viewing find as much joy in my paintings as I do. I take a great deal of pride in knowing my paintings are in homes and businesses for others to enjoy.
